Something New Is Taking Shape

Lately, I've found myself wanting to see where else the beads might take me.

Earrings were where my beadwork began, but recently I've been experimenting with bracelets. Learning to work on a loom and creating new patterns.

It is fun watching a piece emerge this way. At first there are just colours, beads and an idea. Then, row by row, a pattern begins to appear.

I've been playing with colour combinations and patterns, taking some apart, starting again, and learning what works. The green and gold bracelet pictured here is the first pieces I finished, and I love the way the different greens seem to shift as you move your wrist.

I'm also discovering how different it feels to make something that sits against the skin. A bracelet is always there at the edge of your vision. A little flash of colour as you move through your day.

I'll share more as the collection begins to take shape.
